During the Session You Will:

    • Discover the history and traditions of millinery
    • Learn about the role of the modern milliner
    • Explore the different materials used in hat making, including felt, sinamay, buckram and crinoline
    • Be introduced to traditional stiffening agents and understand how they are used to shape and structure headwear
    • Handle professional millinery tools and equipment, including wooden hat blocks, steamers and specialist sewing tools
    • Watch demonstrations of blocking, shaping and finishing techniques
    • Experiment with materials and trims in a fun and informal setting
    • Ask questions and gain advice about taking your interest in millinery further
